Quality gate
No answer appears on this site unless it was independently upvoted at least three times by the community that originally reviewed it. The threshold is deliberately conservative to exclude quick-fire answers that sound plausible but were never adopted in production.
Corrections
If a published answer is demonstrably wrong on a modern Office version, email the Contact address with a repro case. Verified corrections are applied within five business days and the post’s “Updated” date is refreshed. We never silently rewrite history — if the original answer is kept for archival completeness, a new correction block is appended above it.
Authorship and attribution
Code examples and prose are drawn from the original community contributors. The editorial rewrite (the 3-part structure and FAQ) is produced by Helen Feddema’s team from the raw record. We do not insert sponsored content and accept no payments for placement.
AI disclosure
This site uses automated tooling to organize, format, and summarize community content at scale. It does not use generative AI to invent code examples. Every code block shown is the original contributor’s work, preserved verbatim.
